G&CS Advocacy and Rescue is looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our mission of saving dogs from high-kill shelters and preventing pets from entering shelters. As a foster-based rescue, we rely on the support of our community to provide a safe and nurturing environment for dogs in need.
Foster Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
Match animals with appropriate foster homes based on their needs and the foster family’s capabilities.
Provide ongoing support and resources to foster families, including regular check-ins and assistance with any issues that arise.
Coordinate veterinary care and medical treatments for foster animals.
Maintain accurate records of foster animals, including medical histories and progress reports.
Organize and facilitate adoption events and foster family meet-ups.
Collaborate with the rescue team to identify animals in need of foster care and develop individualized care plans.
Qualifications:
- Passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to the mission of G&Cs Advocacy and Rescue Corporation.
- Previous experience in animal rescue, shelter management, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computer software and databases for record-keeping.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Other Opportunities
Event Support: Help with organizing and running adoption events.
Social Media: Assist with promoting our rescue efforts on social media platforms.
Fundraising: Participate in fundraising activities to support our rescue operations.
Transportation: Help transport dogs to and from vet appointments and adoption events.
